With its Plug-in Hybrid architecture, the Hornet R/T combines the power of its 1.3L Turbo engine, with its electric motor and the Segment-Exclusive PowerShot to unlock an extra 25 electric horsepower—delivering an estimated 285 combined horsepower and 383 pound-feet of total torque—and shaving 1 second off its own 0-60 mph launch time.

What Engine Options Does the Dodge Hornet Have?
For the 2023 model year, Dodge is entering a new era of powertrain options with the release of the Hornet. In juxtaposition with the Dodge engines you might expect, the Hornet is taking a different approach, resulting in a more versatile lineup overall. Dodge is committed to creating a greener, more fuel-efficient future, and these powertrains are a representation of that goal. For the GT model, the Hornet features a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine called the Hurricane. This engine is rated at an impressive 265 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, and is designed with efficiency in mind. The other Dodge Hornet trim level is the R/T, which features an innovative plug-in hybrid powertrain! The R/T includes a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine, as well as an electric motor that’s powered by a 15.5-kWh battery. You can recharge the battery using a charging port on the side of the vehicle. When fully charged, the R/T offers up to 30 miles of electric range!
What are the Design Features of the Dodge Hornet?
The Dodge Hornet is packed with new features, but it still bears a strong family resemblance to the other vehicles in the Dodge lineup! For example, there are several bright exterior colors to choose from, as well as a sleek black option complete with thin red racing stripes. If you’re looking for a bold black look overall, you can opt for the available Blackout package, which has sleek black accents inside and out. The interior of both trim levels features black-upholstered seats with sporty red accent stitching, and there’s also available Alcantara suede upholstery, as well as available red seatbelts. On the outside, the Hornet has a sporty, compact silhouette, falling between the Durango and the Charger in terms of size. It features a horizontal mail slot-style opening below the front grille, and the Dodge Rhombii emblem is front and center!
What Performance Features Does the 2023 Hornet Offer?
