What are the New Special-Edition Ram 1500 Models?
The Ram 1500 lineup is already quite diverse, with models to suit a wide array of needs and preferences. For 2022, you can find many new trim levels that expand upon the collection even more. First up, the Big Horn BackCountry Edition contains all of the standard features of the Big Horn, but takes a more athletic turn by adding on the Off-Road Group, featuring front tow hooks, underbody steel skid plates, hill-descent control, and all-terrain tires. It also adds bed features like spray-in bedliner, and LED in-bed lighting. Another new trim is the G/T Edition, available with the Laramie and Rebel trims. This is a performance-focused package that takes the sporty styling of the Rebel a step further with features like a metal pedal kit, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, aluminum paddle shifters, and cold-air intake. The new Limited 10th Anniversary Edition maximizes the luxury of the Limited trim with features like 22-inch polished wheels, a 19-speaker premium Harman-Kardon sound system, custom graphics for the 12-inch touchscreen, and an exclusive exterior paint color called Blue Shade.
What are the 2022 Ram 1500’s Engine Options?
There are as many as four possible engine options available when you choose the 2022 Ram 1500! Each engine is proven to be strong and reliable, and each one is more powerful than the last. Up first is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that comes standard with the Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, and Rebel trims. This engine provides 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque while pairing with the 48-volt eTorque mild-hybrid system for added fuel efficiency. The upper trim levels like the Limited Longhorn and Limited feature the robust 5.7-liter V8, rated at 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. You can utilize this engine with or without the eTorque system, depending on your preference. There’s also an available 3.0-liter turbodiesel V8, which gives you a hefty 480 lb-ft of torque. For the TRX trim, the Ram 1500 pulls out all the stops with the 6.2-liter supercharged V8. This engine kicks out an impressive 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, enabling the TRX to reach 60 miles per hour from a standstill in just 4.5 seconds. Each of these engines pairs with the tried and true TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission.
What New Features does the 2022 Ram 1500 Have?
The new 2022 Ram 1500 has plenty of new features that you can enjoy at every trim level. The first is an advanced air filtration system that can remove up to 95% of harmful particles like dust, smoke, pollen, and even bacteria! The Uconnect 5 is said to be five times faster than the previous generation of the software, and also comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
