Charging Options for your Jeep 4xe

Jeep hybrid SUVs can harness the power of electricity, bringing you incredible capability, performance, and efficiency. Plug-in hybrid technology is the first step in our mission to offer a full line of zero-emission SUVs. Jeep electrification takes legendary Wrangler capability to new heights. The Wrangler 4xe is equipped with a PHEV powertrain with a 2.0L Turbo I4 engine that delivers 375 horsepower, 470 pound-feet of torque, and goes 0-60 mph in 6 seconds. Jeep also added incredible electrified power to the sophistication and versatility of the Grand Cherokee. Featuring two electric motors, it delivers an outstanding towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds and next-level capability. But how do you charge your 4xe? Well, the team at Bedford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram thought we would explain all the great ways you can charge your new electric Jeep.

Charger Your Jeep on the Road

Jeep is working to establish a Jeep 4xe Charging Network across America for 4xe owners. These stations will allow you to continue your electrified adventures in some of the most remote destinations. These stations will offer Level 2 charging at Jeep Badge of Honor off-road trailheads around the United States. Jeep has joined forces with Electrify America to provide EV charging at off-road trailheads across the country. Jeep 4xe Charging Stations will be either directly connected to the power grid or use solar power to generate electricity.

Your Jeep Charges Itself

Regenerative Braking allows the battery to be charged when decelerating and braking. Regenerative Braking captures the kinetic energy from Braking and converts it into the electrical power that charges the vehicle's high voltage battery. Regenerative Braking also slows the car down, which assists the use of traditional brakes. The Max Regeneration feature remaps the accelerator pedal to command more aggressive regeneration at low pedal positions. It allows you to slow the vehicle down without the brake pedal, but a complete stop always requires the brake pedal. It also stays selected until you turn it off.

Charge Your Jeep at Home

The battery of your 4xe can be fully charged in approximately 2 hours using an available Level II charger or 12 hours using the included Level I charger. With the ability to charge at home and work, you can enjoy the benefits of fully electric daily commutes. The Level I charging system comes standard across all 4xe models and plugs into a typical household outlet. The available Level II Jeep Branded TurboDX Electric Vehicle EV Charger is simple and offers a faster charge than Level I. The Level II charger can fully charge the battery in approximately 2 hours versus 12 hours.
