Running solely on electric power, the Jeep Wagoneer S is what is called a battery electric vehicle, or BEV for short. Completely void of an internal combustion engine, the Wagoneer S uses a pair of electric drive modules, one on each axle, with a 3-in-1 design. This 3-in-1 setup features an electric motor, gearing, and power electronics all in one compact unit. This allows for the vehicle's impressive power output and efficiency. The EDMs are powered by a 100-kilowatt-hour, 400-volt rechargeable battery pack. When road conditions are ideal, however, the front EDM will power down, allowing the front wheels to spin freely while power is sent only to the rear wheels, saving battery power to maximize range.

With more than 170 standard and optional safety features, the Wagoneer S is quite possibly the safest SUV in today's competitive market. The first advanced technology that comes standard is blindspot monitoring, which uses rear-facing sensors and visual warnings on the side mirrors to alert drivers to a vehicle that may not be visible from the driver's position. Meanwhile, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go allows you to set both a speed and a distance from the car in front of you, and the vehicle will maintain this safe distance while holding the speed when it is safe to do so. The active lane management system will alert you if you begin to stray from your lane of travel.
