There are many reasons drivers choose the Ram 1500. Chief among them is the power that it provides with an array of engine options. The standard engine for the 2023 Ram 1500 is a 3.6L V6 engine that puts down 305 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. With a properly-installed Trailer Tow Package, the V6 engine gives the Ram 1500 a towing capacity of up to 7,760 pounds. The V6 engine's eTorque mild-hybrid technology uses a 48-volt electric motor at the front of the engine to enhance its efficiency. The 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 is available for the entire Ram 1500 lineup and delivers 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque to tow up to 9,600 pounds when properly equipped. Additionally, the EcoDiesel engine can provide up to a 950-mile total driving range. Next in line is the 5.7L HEMI V8, available for the lineup, while standard equipment for the Limited trim. The HEMI engine puts out 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque to pull up to 11,610 pounds of cargo. However, when drivers select the 5.7L V8 with eTorque, the maximum towing capacity goes up to 12,750 pounds. The last available engine comes exclusively with the Ram 1500 TRX, ripping out 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque from a supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8. All Ram 1500 engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive system. Meanwhile, 4x4 is optional for the lineup while standard on the Rebel, Limited, and TRX models.

There is a wide range of standard and available features for the 2023 Ram 1500. In its most basic form, the Tradesman trim level, the Ram 1500 comes with a quad cab with a six-foot-four-inch bed. However, a crew cab is optional with a five-foot-seven-inch or six-foot-four-inch bed. The Tradesman trim also features 18-inch steel wheels, an LED trailer hitch light, power-adjustable side mirrors, a five-inch infotainment touchscreen, air conditioning, cruise control, and work-grade vinyl upholstery. Meanwhile, at the mid-level trims, you'll find things like chrome exterior accents, alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a seven-inch digital driver information display, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and more. The Rebel upgrades with off-roading features like off-road-tuned suspension, standard 4x4, a one-inch factory lift, an upgraded front fascia, 33-inch all-terrain tires, skid plates, and a locking rear axle. Newly standard for the 2023 Ram 1500 Rebel is Selec-Speed, which allows drivers to set a low speed while off-roading and puts the truck in control of its speed. Think of it as cruise control for off-roading. The top-spec Limited trim features luxurious features like four-corner air suspension, LED exterior lighting, chrome dual exhaust outlets, 20-inch alloy wheels, power running boards, a 12-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, navigation, and more. The Limited is eligible for the Limited Elite package, which adds even more luxury. Lastly, the Rebel, Limited, and TRX trims all come with Ram's all-new 12-inch fully-digital customizable instrument cluster. 

The Ram 1500 is equipped with a wide range of standard safety features, with many more that can be added to enhance its safety. For starters, the Ram 1500 uses brake rotors with a 14.9-inch diameter, making them the largest in the class. Additionally, the Ram 1500's body sits on a high-strength steel frame with side impact beams for optimal impact protection. Aiding in this protection is the all-around airbag coverage provided by adaptive front airbags, driver and passenger seat-mounted side airbags, and side curtain airbags for both rows.
