Learn More from Bedford CDJR!

For twenty years now, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has upheld a reputation for conquering the most challenging trails imaginable and providing drivers with a one-of-a-kind driving experience. The Wrangler Rubicon earns its Trail Rated badge and name by conquering the Rubicon Trail, situated high in California's Sierra Nevada mountains. Jeep took the Wrangler Rubicon to new heights in 2021 by offering an available HEMI engine, giving it more power and, thus, more capability. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 provides more power for even more excitement both on and off the road. Please continue reading below to learn more about the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392!

What Powers the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392?

The 392-cubic inch 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine has been providing drivers with excitement for years. That excitement that started under the hood of the Dodge muscle cars joins the Jeep lineup in the Wrangler Rubicon 392. In the Rubicon 392, the Wrangler gets a matching 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque from the HEMI engine, taking drivers from 0-60 in just 4.5 seconds! The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters to give drivers more control of the performance. To continuously provide the engine with cold air no matter the terrain, Jeep created the Hydro Guide air intake system exclusively for the Wrangler Rubicon 392. This allows the vehicle to wade in up to almost 33 inches of water and still provide air to the engine. This is done by removing up to 15 gallons of water from the air intake each minute through three ducts that lead away from the engine. Even if the hood scoop is completely obstructed, there are secondary air intake valves to supplement the air. The signature roar from the HEMI is captured by a dual-mode exhaust system with four outlets. The two modes are Normal and Performance. When selected, normal mode will send the exhaust through the whole muffler before being emitted out quad tailpipes. Meanwhile, Performance mode allows for straight exhaust flow to deliver that unique HEMI growl.

What Makes the Wrangler Rubicon 392 So Capable?

The Wrangler Rubicon itself is well-equipped to tackle rugged terrain, but the Rubicon 392 builds on that and goes beyond where some Wranglers would turn back. The Wrangler's breakover, approach, and departure angles are all improved for the Rubicon 392, providing up to 11.1 inches of ground clearance to easily pass over trail obstacles. The Rubicon 392 also comes with a two-inch factory lift featuring gas-charged high-pressure monotube shocks for maximum handling and ride comfort even while off-roading. Like the regular Rubicon, the Rubicon 392 features the electronically disconnecting front sway bar. This increases wheel articulation by unlinking the front sway bar to allow the front wheels to rise and drop further while traversing uneven terrain. The Rubicon 392 also features the Off-Road+ button with Rock and Sand modes. Selecting one of these modes will automatically make adjustments to the throttle control, transmission shift points, and traction control to maximize performance and capability. Aiding in off-road capability is the Selec-Speed control system. This allows you to set a speed between 0.6 and 5 MPH, putting the vehicle in control of the gas and brake pedals so you can focus on steering while off-roading. Think of it as off-roading cruise control. Other off-roading features include steel skid plates, 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac all-terrain tires, tow hooks, and more.

What Does the XTreme Recon Package Add?

The XTreme Recon package is available for the Wrangler Rubicon 392, taking the vehicle's off-road capability and turning it up to eleven! The XTreme Recon package upgrades the suspension to give the Wrangler Rubicon 392 a ground clearance of up to 12.9 inches. Which towers over the normal Wrangler and provides up to 33.6 inches of water fording depths. Additionally, the XTreme Recon package adds beefier tires, spanning 35 inches making them two inches larger than those of the regular Wrangler Rubicon 392. The XTreme Recon package for the Wrangler Rubicon 392 adds all this and more.
