New features for the 2022 Jeep Compass
The updates for the 2022 Jeep Compass can be instantly noticed from the exterior, thanks to an upgraded front fascia with a sleeker take on the signature seven-slot grille. Now standard on the base-level Compass Sport is an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5. Another big update is Jeep’s welcoming of the Compass Latitude LUX trim, featuring heated front seats, plush leather upholstery, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, remote start, and much more. Speaking of the trim lineup, the Trailhawk trim features new updates of its own, including a sporty 30-degree approach angle for overcoming rugged terrain and a new stylish anti-glare hood decal. The Limited trim picks up where the Latitude LUX left off and adds a newly available interior color pallet that beautifully blends Slate Grey, Sepia, and Burnished Copper.
What engine powers the 2022 Jeep Compass?
One engine powers the entire 2022 Jeep Compass lineup. This engine is a sturdy 2.4L Tigershark MultiAir I4 engine supplying drivers with 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. The Compass offers two transmission options, depending on the drivetrain. Rear-wheel drive comes standard and is driven by a 6-speed automatic transmission. Active Drive 4x4, available to all trim levels, is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the Trailhawk trim comes exclusively with Active Drive Low 4x4 for signature Trail Rated capability. The Trailhawk also features all-terrain tires and a 1-inch factory lift for 8.6 inches of ground clearance and up to 19 inches of water fording capability.

Jeep is launching the Compass into the future with more modern technology than ever with the addition of Uconnect 5. Many vehicles in the Jeep lineup have lept to the all-new software to utilize the latest in-car technologies, and the Compass is no different. Uconnect 5 is the next generation of infotainment software and is displayed on a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen, while a 10.1-inch touchscreen is standard on higher trim levels. The new Uconnect 5 system offers faster operating speeds, wireless smartphone integration for Apple and Android, Amazon Alexa, and more. The available thin-film transistor (TFT) digital driver information cluster measures up to 7 or 10.25 inches. The Limited trim features a premium Alpine audio system with nine chrome-accented speakers for exquisite sound quality. The Compass’ safety features have also gotten significant upgrades, adding standard driver assists like lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, blindspot monitoring, full-speed forward collision mitigation, and more.
