The Laredo Trim is the base starting trim model of the Grand Cherokee, which offers a core set of features worked into each other trim level. Jeep brings in a Uconnect Infotainment system that is stationed on an easy to reach touchscreen display which we found easy to operate and navigate thanks to smartphone integration and other convenient apps. Some of the other key features we see are dual-zone automatic climate control with infrared sensors and seat outlets, variable/intermittent windshield wipers, automatic headlights with daytime running lamps, premium fog lights, and split-folding rear seats for extra storage potential. The Grand Cherokee is also rated 5/5 stars for overall safety by the official NHTSA, which is thanks to the number of safety features brought in to each model; some of our top picks include blind-spot monitoring, an advanced airbag system, electronic stability control with roll-mitigation, trailer-sway control, and a ParkSense rear park assist system with a rearview camera.

The Limited trim level is the second offered, building off of the Laredo trim’s base feature kit. The front seats of the Grand Cherokee are power-adjustable with memory settings while both the first and second-row seats can be heated and are covered in a leather upholstery trimming. Other great features brought in include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, larger 18-inch wheels, a power-operated sunroof and liftgate, an enhanced two-speed transfer case for 4WD models that include Jeep’s Selec-Terrain traction management system, and a convenient 115-volt power outlet. The Trailhawk and Overland trims take the features found in the Limited trim level and continue to build on even more. In particular, the Trailhawk is Jeep’s classic trim model that specializes in maximizing the off-road capability of the vehicle. Some of the key features found with the Trailhawk includes a segment-exclusive air suspension tuned for responsive off-road performance, underbody skid plates to help protect the vehicle's vital systems, all-terrain tires, hill-ascent/descent control support with Jeep’s Selec-Speed system, and more. The Summit trim is the highest level trim model in the series offering the best in comfort and convenience. Building on the Overland trims extensive feature list, some of the key features brought in with the Summit trim include a Harman Kardon high-performance 19-speaker sound system, a deluxe cargo compartment for additional storage space, larger 20-inch wheels, premium LED fog lamps, and headlamp washers.

 

The SRT and Trackhawk trim models take the feature list from the Summit trim, and add in high performance, immense V8 engines that generate intense amounts of power. In order to be able to effectively utilize this higher power output, these trim levels also include a multitude of track-tuned powertrain systems that increase the torque potential and responsiveness when controlling the vehicle. Most notably are systems added in such as the Selec-Trac traction management system to help with stability while accelerating, a track-tuned suspension system with active damping, and a Quadra-Trac Active On-Demand transfer case.
