Power

There are three engines available to the lower five Grand Cherokee models on the market. The first and standard engine is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that pumps out 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes with ESS, shutting off the engine in times of idling to save on fuel and reduce carbon emissions. The second engine, a 5.7-liter V8, delivers up to 360 horsepower and 390 and can tow up to 7,200 pounds. This engine also features Fuel Saver Technology which shuts off four of the eight cylinders for additional efficiency when they are not needed. The third engine, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6, generates up to 340 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. All engines, including the SRT’s and the Trackhawk’s, are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Capability

The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk trim level was made for life best lived off the beaten path with off-roading capabilities that take every adventure to the next level. Each Trailhawk model is equipped with features like underbody skid plates for protection, front tow hooks, an anti-glare decal, and the Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system. This system boasts a rear electronic limited-slip differential that transfers up to 100% of the engine’s torque to a single rear wheel if needed, delivering superior off-road capability.

The available Off-Road Pages give drivers a view into the SUV’s stats and diagnostics right on the touchscreen. These include drive modes, suspension height settings, transmission temperature, and wheel articulation. Trailhawk models are also Trail Rated, put to the test to deliver off-road time and time again. Testing categories include traction, ground clearance, articulation, water fording, and maneuverability.

Performance

Two of the Grand Cherokee’s models, the SRT and the Trackhawk, are built for track performance. These models are engineered for those that search for an authentic and aggressive performance. With high-performance engines under the hood, these models will have your heart pumping and your blood racing at every turn! The advanced performance-tuned software lets you take every drive to the next level.

Both models are outfitted with world-class on-road driving dynamics for optimum traction. Bilstein Adaptive Suspension system gives the driver the ability to adjust the dampers for track or sport performance if desired while the rear Electronic Limited Slip Differential better distributes the massive power to the wheels with four-point axle mounting. Both models also deploy the Jeep Quadra-Trac active on-demand 4x4 system with a full-time transfer case for optimum traction in all driving conditions.

Under the hood of the SRT model, you will find a 6.4-liter V8 engine pumping out 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Along with this incredible engine, the SRT model boasts high-performance Brembo brakes that resist fade when commuting and spirited street driving despite the SUV’s power and weight. The Trackhawk model is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. This engine also clocks an 11.6-second quarter-mile time.
