What are the engine options for the 2022 Wrangler?
The 2022 Wrangler lineup has five available engine options, beginning with the standard 285 horsepower, 260 lb-ft of torque Pentastar 3.6L V6. The standard V6 engine employs eTorque mild-hybrid technology to provide optimal fuel economy and low-end torque for enhanced off-roading performance. Available for the whole lineup is a turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine, offering 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Available to all Wrangler Unlimited (four-door) models is a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine providing 250 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. In addition, the Sahara, Rubicon, and High Altitude trims are eligible for the all-new 4xe powertrain, which mates two electric generators to a turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine to supply drivers with 56 MPG, 470 lb-ft of instant torque, and 375 horsepower. Lastly, the exclusive Rubicon 392 pumps out 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque with a 392-cubic inch 6.4L V8 engine offering a 0-60 time of just 4.5 seconds and the satisfying V8 rumble. The V6, turbocharged I-4, and EcoDiesel engines are all mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard equipment, while the TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission is optional. The automatic transmission option is standard on the 4xe models and Rubicon 392.

Selec-Trac is a full-time system that automatically shifts out of and into 4WD without any driver input depending on road conditions. Rock-Trac 4x4 exclusively comes standard on the Rubicon models for optimal handling off-road with electronic locking front and rear differentials and a 4:1 low-range gear ratio for optimal control while crawling at low speeds. The Wrangler Rubicon also uses an electronic front sway bar disconnect which automatically disengages the front sway bar, allowing the front wheels to compress and drop further, making it easier to crawl over rugged terrain.
