2022 Jeep Compass Engine & Drivetrain
The Jeep Compass lineup is powered by a 2.4-liter inline-4 cylinder engine which Jeep calls Tigershark. The Tigershark engine supplies drivers with 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. On the first two trims, Sport and Latitude, power is driven to the front wheels by a six-speed automatic transmission. However, all of the following trims have a 9-speed automatic transmission sending power to Jeep’s Active Drive 4x4 system. Using a disconnecting rear axle, Active Drive uses front-wheel drive while road conditions are ideal. When the system detects a loss of traction, the rear wheels will automatically be engaged, powering all four wheels to counteract the slip and maintain traction. By doing so, you get all-weather confidence along with maximum fuel efficiency.
2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Engine & Drivetrain
Standard under the hood of the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer, you’ll find a 1.2L turbocharged I-4 engine, delivering just 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Powering the front wheels is a continuously variable transmission (CVT). However, if those numbers seem a bit disappointing, Chevy also provides an optional 1.3L turbocharged I-4 engine, which supplies 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. In addition to the extra power, Trailblazers equipped with the 1.3L engine also come with a 9-speed automatic transmission replacing the CVT. For more all-weather confidence, all-wheel drive is optional for the 1.3L engine. The top-level RS trim has both the 1.3L engine and all-wheel drive as standard equipment.
2022 Jeep Compass Cabin & Design
The Compass was redesigned for the 2022 model year, getting a bolder yet more elegant exterior and a more premium interior feel. Exterior features that are standard include approach/perimeter lights, LED headlights and taillights, 16-inch alloy wheels, a proximity key, heated power side mirrors, and trapezoidal fender flares. Newly standard interior features include a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen, premium cloth upholstery, push-button start, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, auto up/down front windows, a full suite of driver aids, a reconfigured center stack, and a 4.2-inch digital driver information display. Stepping up to higher trim levels will get you 17, 18, or 19-inch alloy wheels, LED cornering fog lights, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 7-inch digital driver information display, a 10.25-inch fully-digital gauge cluster, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen. The Trailhawk trim sets itself apart with a one-inch lift, red recovery hooks, Active Drive Low 4x4, an anti-glare hood decal, skid plates, and all-terrain tires.
2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Cabin & Design
The Chevy Trailblazer has an aggressive and fearsome look brought on by a tall, confident grille, slim headlights housings, and a wide stance. Other exterior features standard on the entry-level LS trim include halogen headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, active grille shutters, and power-adjustable side mirrors. Stepping inside the Trailblazer, you’ll find a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, cloth upholstery, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and a 3.5-inch digital driver information display. When you opt for a higher Trailblazer trim level, you’ll get heated front seats, simulated leather upholstery, push-button start, a proximity key, an 8-inch touchscreen, and LED exterior lighting.
