What are the powertrain options for the 2022 Durango?
The Durango may be a family car, but Dodge is still America’s muscle car brand, and a muscle car is only as good as its engines. So let’s take a closer look at the three engine options available for the 2022 Durango! Kicking off the engine lineup is the standard 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine. This supplies drivers with 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque and can haul up to 6,200 pounds. The 5.7L V8 is optional for the SXT, GT, and GT Plus trim levels while standard on the R/T trim. The V8 engine pumps out 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, pulling up to 8,700 pounds. But the Durango wouldn’t be a Dodge if there wasn’t a more sinister option. The SRT 392 trim level comes standard with a 392-cubic inch 6.4L V8 that pushes out 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, ripping from 0-60 in just 4.7 seconds! An 8-speed automatic transmission drives the rear wheels of the Durango. However, all-wheel drive is optional for all trim levels, except for the Durango, where AWD comes standard.
Standard and available features for the 2022 Durango
The 2022 Dodge Durango is well-equipped at every trim level and ready to take on any driver’s everyday life. The functional exterior boasts 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, LED headlights, fog lights, and taillights. Inside, you’ll find room for seven with two front bucket seats, a three-seat 60/40 split-folding second-row seat, and a two-seat third-row bench with a 50/50 split. Other interior features include an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an 8.4-inch Uconnect 4 touchscreen, and three-zone automatic climate control with rear-seat vents and controls. Available features and those standard on higher trim levels include 20-inch alloy wheels, remote start, a power liftgate, dual exhaust outlets, heated front seats, a flat-bottom heated steering wheel, a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, and more. Topping off the lineup is the SRT 392 trim with Bilstein performance adaptive suspension, standard AWD, Brembo high-performance brakes, SRT performance pages, and SRT drive modes which include Track, Sport, Auto, Snow, Tow, and Custom.
What new features does the Dodge Durango offer?
Dodge is all about moving forward, so the Dodge Durango received brand new features ahead of the 2022 model year. As was previously mentioned, seven seats are now standard for the Durango, which has only been an available option in previous years. Additionally, the Durango now comes standard with blindspot monitoring, rear cross-traffic warning, and rear parking sensors, more features that were previously optional. The GT Plus trim adds forward collision mitigation, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist. Finally, opting for the R/T, R/T Plus, Citadel, or SRT 392 trim levels gets you a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen. The new Uconnect 5 system operates four times faster than the previous generation and features advanced technologies like Amazon Alexa virtual assistant with car-to-home functionality, cordless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, two-device Bluetooth capability, 4G LTE WiFi, and available TomTom navigation with over-the-air updates.
