2021 Jeep Wrangler Lineup
What engines can I choose from?
The Jeep Wrangler doesn’t just stop at giving you one engine option, that would be far too easy. You will be able to choose from an entire lineup of engines in order to figure out what fits your needs. The base engine gets a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine is a 3.6-liter V6, which can output 260 pound-feet of torque and around 285 horsepower. You’ll also love the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which can create 170 horsepower and up to 295 pound-feet of torque. There is even a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel V6, which can get you 442 pound-feet of torque and up to 260 horsepower. Both of these engines get an eight-speed automatic transmission. Later on, a 4xe plug-in hybrid engine will slip into the lineup.
What are some of the trim levels?
Now that you’ve figured out the engine that you need to get the power and capability that you want, you need to figure out which of the available trim levels fits your needs. The base trim here is Sport, which offers manual door locks, skid plates, a five-inch touchscreen display, 17-inch steel wheels, tow hooks, crank windows, and fog lights. The Sport S trim comes in with air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, tinted windows, alloy wheels, and power windows and door locks. Towards the top, you have Sahara, which gets you Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a body-colored grille with chrome inserts, automatic climate control, a seven-inch touchscreen, and body-colored fender flares.
What about safety?
While the Wrangler is a vehicle that focuses primarily on off-roading needs, that doesn’t mean that Jeep has skimped at all in terms of safety. You’ll even get a ParkView rear back-up camera, which helps to ensure that you can see whatever is behind you when you’re backing up. You’ll also find features like a ParkSense rear park assist system, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-path detection.
